Fans of his beloved TV series are ‘angry’ when streaming site reveals deadline – find out if you’re eligible for a refund

FANS of a popular TV series are “angry” when the streaming app that hosts the screen announced its closure.

Lionsgate recently announced that it would be leaving the UK market permanently.

But now the company has shared a shutdown date and details of how affected customers can claim a refund.

Despite being a smaller player compared to Netflix and Disney, Lionsgate is beloved by Outlander fans.

The former drama, starring Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, will air at the end of season seven in 2024.

But viewers of the show worry they won’t have anywhere to watch it.

Many are hoping that someone else will step in and pick Outlander, which has been renewed for an eighth final season.

Other well-known shows that appear on the service include Power Book III, The Great, and Station Eleven.

“Outlander enthusiasts in the UK are concerned about the closure of Lionsgate in the UK and the withdrawal of Starz in the UK in January 2024,” one user wrote.

“How are we going to watch Outlander!! The best series on screen and not being able to see the second part of the S7 leaves the end of the S8?”

Another asked: “Lionsgate will be definitive in the UK in early 2024.

“Can you tell me where I can watch Outlander when it stops?”

A third added: “Now that Lionsgate is shutting down, where will we be to watch Outlander in the UK?”

The move comes after another streaming service, Peacock, announced it would be leaving Sky, despite most of the platform’s screens being available elsewhere.

Lionsgate has begun notifying that Lionsgate will close on February 29, 2024.

Customers will get a prorated refund for any day of their subscription.

“We regret to inform you that we are discontinuing the LIONSGATE+ streaming service in your country,” the firm said.

“Your subscription will end on February 29, 2024.

“You’ll get a prorated refund of your existing subscription payment and be charged for everything else.

“You don’t need to take any action.

“You can continue with the LIONSGATE service until February 29, 2024. “
