
(MENAFN-IANS) Kolkata, Jan 3 (IANS) Petrochemical company Haldia Petrochemical Limited (HPL) on Wednesday announced that it has initiated the site execution procedure for the entity’s largest phenol plant in India, which will be in the commercial commune of Haldia. in the west, Midnapore district, East Bengal.
According to a statement issued through the company, the inauguration rite of the unit’s piloting works took place on Wednesday in the presence of HPL CEO Navanit Narayan.
Narayan and senior officials inspected the site, reviewed progress and on-the-ground arrangements, as the company moves toward the ambitious goal of completing the task by the first quarter of 2026, HPL said in a statement.
According to the statement, it is also India’s first express propylene plant based on olefin conversion technology (OCT), which will enable HPL to become the country’s first incorporated player in the phenolic chain.
According to HPL’s management, the demand for petrochemicals is increasing due to large population, favorable demographics, increasing economic growth, urbanization, and its positive effects on automobile production, construction, infrastructure, agrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
