Komax Group revises its outlook for the 2023 monetary year

Dierikon, January 10, 2024

Press releaseTimely announcement pursuant to Art. 53LR

Preliminary data for the 2023 monetary year

The Komax Group’s customers remain keen to further automate their wire processing operations. Towards the end of 2023, however, various economic and geopolitical uncertainties meant that they were increasingly reluctant to make investment decisions. The resulting order intake amounted to CHF 686.5 million, which represented an increase of 1.2% on the previous year (CHF 678.1 million).

According to initial figures for the full year 2023, the Komax Group expects sales of around CHF 750 million (2022: CHF 606. 3 million), with an EBIT margin of around 9% (2022: 11. 8%). it is expected to be just below CHF 20 million under the direction of CHF 770 million, with an EBIT margin relief of around two percent from the forecast figure of around 11%. However, 20% is eye-catching, and is due, on the one hand, to the merger with Schleuniger and, on the other hand, to the record order of the Komax group at the beginning of 2023.

The expected new EBIT margin of around 9% does not have any ordinary effects such as the profit of CHF 11. 1 million from the sale of a construction at the production site in Rotkreuz, Switzerland, completed in the first quarter of 2023, or the costs of the closure of the Jettingen plant in Germany.

The Komax Group will publish its detailed monetary statements for 2023 on March 12, 2024.
