Elon Musk, the executive director of Billionaire Tech who has a government counselor for President Donald Trump, blatantly challenged a new synthetic intelligence initiative after the president announced.
Musk claimed on Tuesday that the new AI initiative, called Stargate, did not have the funding necessary to fulfill its goal of investing $500 billion in building AI infrastructure in the United States over the next four years.
“They don’t actually have the money,” Musk said in response to the announcement on X.
Musk’s rapid reprimand was remarkable given his presence in Trump’s world. Musk has been a vocal taxpayer to the president and has announced his presence in Trump’s possession.
The initiative is a collaboration between Openai, a company on AI, which co -stood up before a fall with Sam Altman, SoftBank and Oracle.
In their announcement, the corporations said they would deploy $ 100 billion for the initiative. They hope to build centers of knowledge in the United States, warehouses full of strong servers that provide computing force to expand and advance AI.
But a few hours after the announcement, Musk threw water without blood, which had “good authority” that SoftBank “has much less than $ 10 billion. “
To advance on Wednesday, he responded to a tweet mocking the announcement of the $ 500 billion initiative with an emoji that cries.
Musk has become one of Trump’s closest advisers over the last year. He has been entrusted to oversee the Department of Government Efficiency, the advisory board tasked to cut federal spending, and has been part of Trump’s transition process.
The division is striking since Trump has a long history of loyalty assessment between his team. There are practically no members of the Trump’s first administration who have been brought for the time due to past conflicts.
Musk has a public feud with Altman, his former colleague and CEO of OpenAI.
The two previously sought to “save humanity” from AI’s risks through OpenAI. A dispute on the control of the struggle of the corporate and internal force led to the fall. Musk despite everything left the company in 2018 and since then has begun its own initiative of AI.
Musk filed opposing lawsuits against Openai and Altman and used his platform on X to mock the corporate and the CEO.
Altman to Musk’s accusation over X and supported the $500 billion idea.
“Bad, as you really know,” Altman wrote. It’s wonderful for the country. I realize what is wonderful for the country, this is not what is optimal for your business, but in your new role, I hope you will first put [America] especially. “
Altman invited Musk to the stop at the first knowledge site, which he claimed was in progress. Operai has been running on the so-called Stargate for months and has funded the government extended to its goal of advancing AI in the United States
Altman added, “i genuinely respect your accomplishments and think you are the most inspiring entrepreneur of our time.”
