The land dispute over university campus plans at Dudley Racecourse is expected to be resolved in a public inquiry.

A land dispute that has delayed plans for a multi-million pound university campus at the former Dudley Racecourse will be resolved by a public inquiry in May, council bosses have revealed.

Updated plans for the Castle Hill campus, valued at £25 million, were presented to council planners earlier this year.

City officials said in January that the task was on track to begin later this year, but now they would first need the green light from a government plan inspector.

If successful, the task is expected to begin in January next year and be completed by the summer of 2026.

A building permit application approved in 2021 for ongoing school construction on the site of the former racecourse and bingo hall.
