Clean TeQ Water, in collaboration with its partner ENVA, was contracted through a multinational pharmaceutical corporation to conduct an on-site pilot program to demonstrate the generation of PHOSPHIX® for the removal and recovery of phosphates from pharmaceutical wastewater. ENVA is a leading waste control and resource recovery facility. A company, founded in the United Kingdom and Ireland, that sells Clean TeQ Water’s water treatment solutions in Ireland and the United Kingdom under a cooperation agreement.
The pilot program is expected to end by the end of July 2024. The successful pilot of the PHOSPHIX® generation is expected to lead to a large-scale implementation of the generation to treat 2,000,000 liters of wastewater per day.
This task is motivated by the strengthening of regulations on phosphate discharges in the European Union. Commercial producers of PHOSPHIX® must consistently comply with regulated limits, while generating a phosphate-rich byproduct that can be reused as fertilizer.
“The PHOSPHIX® pilot program with a multinational pharmaceutical company is an important step forward for the ENVA/Clean TeQ Water partnership and paves the way for the commercial-scale implementation of this generation in the European Union, where regulations on the discharge of species such as phosphate in particular remain stricter.
