Back on the chains: Popeyes initiates paintings on site; Starbucks Is Still Waiting

The Popeyes restaurant will be located on the Dunkirk Multiplex square on Bennett Road, within sight of the Dunkirk-Fredonia Thruway entrance. The plaza is also home to the recently opened Planet Fitness gym, which began operations in the final weeks of 2023.

Down the street on Vineyard Drive in Tops Plaza, several parts of moves are overdue and the addition coffee lovers have been waiting for since it was approved last fall. Starbucks’ allocation was approved through the City Council last August, with situations advised through the plan-making committee after providing conditional approval last June. Among the situations the City Council established when approving the Starbucks site plan were the installation of speed restriction symptoms, turning symptoms and other appropriate traffic symptoms, lane markers to direct traffic, and a speed bump to deter drivers from driving high-speed cars in the area.

Despite the delays, Mourer still believes that, for now, the planned date for the structure in the run-up to Labor Day has still been affected.

In other developments in the city of Dunkirk in recent weeks, it was reported that two homes have been studied through solar energy corporations for possible allocations. One of the assets recently studied is on Brigham Road, separate from the existing solar allotment already approved on Brigham Road. Other assets are on Willow Road.

Regarding the two homes in question, Mourer did not report before the appraisals were carried out. He reported the activity through the owners of the surrounding areas. Mourer expects to receive more information on the subject in the coming weeks.
