A senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has warned that Israel’s nuclear facilities will disappear if Israel takes action against Iran’s nuclear facilities.
The Revolutionary Guards-linked Tasnim news agency quoted Brigadier General Ahmad Haqtalab as saying on Thursday.
He spoke amid fears that Israel may simply strike Iranian nuclear sites in retaliation for Tehran’s missile and drone attack on Israel over the weekend.
Haqtalab, which is guilty of ensuring the safety of Iran’s nuclear sites, said Israel’s nuclear facilities had been identified.
He said that if Israel tried to take advantage of the risk of attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities to exert pressure on Tehran, his country’s nuclear doctrine would most likely be revised.
Iran has lately claimed that its nuclear program is peaceful and that Tehran does not aim to possess nuclear weapons.
The Israeli government is discussing its reaction to the Iranian attack. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told a cabinet meeting on Wednesday that “the State of Israel will do everything possible to protect itself. “
The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, said on Monday that his company was interested in the option that Israel could simply attack Iran’s nuclear facilities. He suggested that Israel exercise restraint.
