Kansas is running to get the Missouri Chiefs out of the way

If bosses move, they may not get very far.

According to the Topeka Capital-Journal, Sports Business Daily, Kansas lawmakers have begun executing a plot to get the Chiefs across state lines.

The key will be loose change. Missouri is currently proposing none, thanks to the failure of a vote four weeks ago to raise a small sales tax to fund renovations to Arrowhead Stadium and the structure of a new ballpark for the Royals.

Kansas can do so without a vote. This is the only practical way to access taxpayers’ money.

The goal would be a minimum investment of $1 billion for a stadium and new facilities.

The team’s lease expires after the 2030 season.

Involving Kansas would be a wonderful end result for the Chiefs, pitting communities of the same domain against each other, rather than implementing a “pay us or else” proposal that would introduce a relocation that would require “Kansas City” to “Chiefs. “update with something like “San Antonio” or “Austin” or “Dallas” or “Salt Lake City” or “Chicago” or “London” or “Charlestown. “
