New Weekly Entertainment Occasion “Skyway Nights” in Santa Maria, Orcutt Border

SANTA MARIA, Calif. — A new weekly entertainment event called “Skyway Nights” is coming to the border of Santa Maria and Orcutt at a site along the busy intersection of Highway 135 and Skyway Drive.

Skyway Nights will take place every Thursday from 5:30 p. m. to 8:30 p. m. from June 13 to October 31.

The venue will be in a parking lot between the Skyway Center and the new mixed-use Element Apartments that are just beginning to be occupied.

“The Vernon Group asked us to come,” said designer Ed Carcarey. “They built the spaces for us, the Element Apartments, but also the Skyway Center, which has a lot of restaurants and the new Colectivo there, so this was designed to host an occasion here. to help those spaces and those spaces to help the occasion.

Skyway Nights is organized through Carcarey, who also created the occasion of Downtown Friday in Santa Maria, now in its eighth year.

The new event will resemble Downtown Fridays in some ways, but it will have a completely different look and feel.

“It’s another occasion that aims to bring the network together and give them something to build on,” Carcarey said. “We’ll have live music here. I’ll be a live band each and every night. We will have karaoke competitions. DJ Ewrek will take the stage. There will be contests of this scene, in addition to Halloween. We will have a costume contest. The Chido Bar will have a beer garden set up. Wine & Design will be inside the beer garden. You can participate. as long as you are 21 years old or older, have a beer or a cocktail, watch music and. . . and give loose painting lessons. We’ll have vendors there and they’ve delivered seven of the most productive food trucks in the Central. Dominance of the coast coming out.

Carcarey said Skyway Nights is specifically for people in their 20s and 40s, but the event will also be organized in a way that is fun for people of all ages.

“My 30-year-old son tells me there’s nothing to do in the city,” Carcarey said. “(He) travels to Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, so we combine anything that suits that old organization, people in their 20s to 40s, anything to stay here in the city and give them something to do. Really prepared for them. Music will be your interest. Some of the weekly attractions will include live music, a beer garden, karaoke, food trucks, live DJs, vendors, contests, adult games, and much more.
