Eating at Minnesota McDonald’s Could Soon Be More Affordable

We all know that dining out is a lot more expensive on those days. The Covid effect, emerging food prices, emerging labour prices, all of this has contributed to driving up prices.

But only for the seats.

Fast food costs have also risen in recent years and it’s cut into business. So much so that chains like Wendy’s offer a variety of “Big Meal Deals for $5” that include a sandwich, poultry nuggets, fries, and a convenience drink.

Now, resources are informing several national monetary media outlets that McDonald’s is offering a five-dollar meal to bring all of us, who are tired of inflationary food costs, back to the Golden Arches. And more often.

Reports imply that McDonald’s is packaging a McDouble or McChicken sandwich with a 4-piece McNugget, fries, and a small comfy drink.

Prices vary, but the domestic piece of those pieces is over $15, so a $5 boxed meal is a huge value.

But McDonald’s isn’t about being good to its consumers. It is a company that recognizes that its main consumers are excluded from the fast food market. Or at least, consumers THINK it’s too expensive to eat there on a regular basis.

Busy parents who take their kids to extracurricular activities where time is of the essence can avoid it through Mickey D’s for a quick meal. Mom, Dad, and two teens can eat for just $20 plus tax on a $5 meal total. Without this, the food on the menu would still cost closer to $65 before taxes. Who can do that very often?

And if Wendy’s is already doing it, McDonald’s will feel compelled to do something akin to a loss of business.

Stay tuned.
