As Vallarta employees look to the future to apply to a new office, Vallarta’s chief operating officer (COO), David Hinojosa, has taken some time to reflect on how the company has come about.
“As we prepare to cut this ribbon, we are just opening the doors of a new building; we are opening a new bankruptcy in a remarkable adventure that has been going on for almost 4 decades,” said Hinojosa.
Hinojosa said Vallarta’s story is one of resilience and vision. All modestly in 1985 in Van Nuys with Enrique González and his family.
“In the late 1980s, our reputation for quality products and exceptional service began to extend and expand to 3 stores,” said Hinojosa.
At that time, Vallarta’s first headquarters was installed in the back of Vallarta, at local seven. With only 17 employees, he was basically dedicated to accounting.
“This small area still exists today and is a testament to our roots and how we’ve grown since then,” Hinojosa said.
Hinojosa thanked all the workers in Vallarta for being the center of the company and thanked the Gonzalez family for staying true to their work.
Fast forward to 2024 and Vallarta supermarkets now have locations with 8,000 employees.
“This new facility represents not only growth, but also Vallarta’s relentless pursuit of excellence and our deep commitment to our clients, our team and our network,” said Hinojosa. “To the glorious network of Santa Clarita, we thank you. We thank you for welcoming us with open arms and supporting us on this incredible journey. We feel revered to be a component of this network and look forward to serving you with the same determination and passion that has characterized Vallarta from the beginning.
Vallarta wasted no time in giving back to the network and brought Santa Clarita Grocery and Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, with a check for $1,000.
“We are thrilled to have been selected, we feel so privileged and revered by this milestone in their company that we can now partner with them for the Santa Clarita community,” said Bradley Grose, founder of Santa Clarita Grocery.
Grose added that there is a lot of excitement surrounding Vallarta’s cutting-edge paintings in the grocery space, as Santa Clarita Grocery unveiled its innovation-based business.
“This is simply a wonderful start to a relationship between Vallarta and Santa Clarita Grocery and we, as an all-volunteer organization, are excited to partner with them and get this check,” said Jill Ziser-Carr, director of community outreach at Santa Clarita Grocery Store.
Hinojosa hopes that Vallarta supermarkets will continue to grow and remain committed to serving their consumers while also giving back to the Santa Clarita Valley.
