Yorkshire-based manufacturer Regal Food Products Group has purchased a 45,000-square-foot warehouse in Bradford to expand its business.
The site, formerly known as FSD Works, bought Folding Sliding Doors Ltd for an undisclosed amount.
Regal Foods produces a wide diversity of predominantly confectionery bakery lines, its own logo and also has a portfolio of logos, adding Yorkshire Baking Company, The Cake Emporium, Just Desserts, Apni Bakery and Love Handmade Cakes, which it acquired in January.
Its products are supplied to more than 3,000 outlets across the country, including Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons supermarkets, while around a fifth of its production is exported to more than 50 countries around the world. Regal also bought its first non-food product and beverage business, Packaging ‘R’ Us, last August to support its wholesale and foodservice offerings.
Regal, which employs more than three hundred people across its six facilities in Yorkshire, has noticed that its turnover has risen from £20 million in 2020 to £31. 8 million last year.
“Following our latest acquisition this year, we are very pleased to integrate this new facility into Regal Group,” commented CEO Younis Chaudhry. “This new addition promises to not only bring our operations to life, but also play a key role in the progress and expansion of our company.
“As a company that cares about the Bradford community, the new warehouse will create several new jobs, boosting employment in business spaces,” he added.
The construction of the new warehouse has been announced and sold through asset consultancy Eddisons, which is lately helping FSD secure a new site in Bradford.
“We are excited to be able to close a quick sale of FSD at their Hopbine Lane location,” said Matt Jennings, Managing Partner of Eddisons. “The commercial freehold market is becoming physically powerful due to a persistent lack of sources and there is, in fact, a healthy demand for significant storage space. “
He also said it was “wonderful to see Regal Food Products, another wonderful Bradford company, step in to take over this giant unit to cater for the expansion of the business and it’s a positive sign that Bradford’s economy is doing well. “
