2024 Summer Food Service Program Offers Free Meal to Idaho Children

IDAHO — As Gem State students begin their summer break, the Idaho Department of Education is reminding families about the summer food service program that is now operating statewide.

SFSP serves balanced meals provided through sponsors, which are reimbursed through the federal budget for meals served, to youth ages 1-18 without proof of source of income.

You can locate the loose meal site nearest you on the USDA Meal Service Locator. Any site labeled “rural non-collective” (RNC) offers takeout foods that can be fed off-site.

Last year, more than 750,000 meals were served to Idaho youth through more than 70 sponsors at more than 250 locations.
