Free food trucks, family activities, and fireworks Friday night at Sandy Downs

The third annual “Food Trucks and Fireworks” festival, hosted through Top-Notch Real Estate, kicks off at five p. m. on Friday at Sandy Downs.

About thirty food trucks will be present.

“We have all kinds of food (soda, lemonade, burgers, barbecue, a bunch of dessert places, a specialty croissant vendor, we have tacos), just about anything you can imagine,” said co-owner Bri Elizondo. Prime Genuine Estate in Idaho Falls.

Activities include “a corn hole tournament, a pie-eating competition, other games, and a fireworks display after sunset,” according to a news release.

“We’ll have bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals,” Elizondo said. “The Idaho Falls Police Department is bringing some of their patrol vehicles (in addition to an unmarked detective car and a K9 unit) for children to ride in. “

Champ’s Heart will be present with miniature horses for children to enjoy as well.

Most activities for young people and families are free, plus inflatables and fireworks. Vendors will be able to get food, facial portraits, and balloon animals.

The evening will end with a 20- to 25-minute fireworks show, featuring a pyrotechnic from Salt Lake City.

“We’re going to release them from the sand dunes so they can see,” Elizondo said.

The event is designed for people of all ages. More than 3,000 people have already registered for the event.

There will be free water stations at Sandy Downs. ADA seating and an ADA restroom will also be available.

“It’s all about the network, so everything that happens here is backed by a network sponsor,” said Jordan Homer, organizer of the event. . . . All of the suppliers are local to East Idaho, and we do precisely the kinds of things that the freedom America has to do. This is something we are very proud of and grateful for.

Admission and parking are free. Tickets with free price can be obtained at https://www. greatidahorealestate. com/2024-food-trucks-and-fireworks. You can also get a ticket priced on-site on Friday nights.

“It’s just a fun activity to celebrate our country and celebrate our community. It’s free, so other people can spend cash if they need it, but you don’t have to,” Elizondo said. “The weather has been fantastic. It’s a way to get out of the house, socialize, and meet some local businesses and local food vendors.
