Home Market Foods Expands Production at Newly Acquired Plant

Home Market Foods (HMF) announced the acquisition of Carla’s former pasta production facility in South Windsor, Connecticut. HMF is expected to invest more than $70 million to build the site, turning it into a meat production site. By the end of 2027, HMF estimates that the company will create 210 jobs to operate the South Windsor facility. This expansion is part of the company’s strategic plan to develop its production capabilities, innovate and meet the strong demand for its food solution products. .  

The renovated facilities, which are scheduled to open in June 2025, will be equipped with machinery and generation to guarantee the highest quality and food protection criteria throughout the production process. The company will integrate energy efficiency systems and waste reduction measures into its facilities. .

After an extensive national search, the decision to locate the new plant in the state of Connecticut was due to several factors, adding the availability of professional labor, the favorable business climate, proximity to major distribution channels, and the city of South.
