MUDA case: the price of my land is 62 rupees cr, let’s let the government return the money for which we don’t need land, says K’taka CM

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah clarified on Thursday that the BJP’s allegations related to the allocation of sites through the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) were political and not based on facts.

Speaking to reporters in Vidhana Soudha, CM Siddaramaiah said that the BJP is running out of funds and is acting at the request of the RSS.

“Shouldn’t we ask ourselves if parcels are being created and distributed on our 3. 16 acres of land?In this case, the price of our land is Rs 62 crore, let it be returned to us. The government accepted the invasion of “Our land in the official assembly and we assigned sites under a 50/50 project. We accepted it and asked them to provide us with sites in an express location,” Siddaramaiah said.

CM Siddaramaiah added: “When the sites were awarded in 2021, the BJP was in force in the state. Then they made the attributions and now they affirm that it opposes the law.

“We had asked for the land of the third or fourth level of Vijayanagar in the city of Mysuru. We had asked to be provided with land according to the 50/50 scheme. The accusations are simply political.

When asked about the rule for the allocation of sites in the locality where the land is acquired, CM Siddaramaiah said: “We have requested sites in express locations. If it is found that the allocation of land in an express location is incorrect, let us be compensated.

“In October 2023, the minister informed in writing that the allocation of sites under the 50/50 program should be canceled. In case this is discussed through the minister, let the government give us 62 crore rupees in accordance with the law. He said.

“The price of the assigned land is less than this amount. One acre of land equals 44,000 square feet and we have been allotted 38,264 square feet. I know the price of the compensated land assigned. Let them give 62 million rupees,” he said. CM stressed.

The Karnataka BJP had called on Thursday for the resignation of CM Siddaramaiah due to alleged irregularities within the MUDA.
