Japanese enthusiasts say Yasuke will be in ‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’

The new Assassin’s Creed Shadows trailer is now available and this time it takes place in feudal Japan, but some Japanese players claim that it includes Yasuke.

Yasuke was a genuine ancient figure who lived in Japan in the 16th century and was probably of African descent. He would have also provided the time period in which this game takes place. However, nothing is actually known about Yasuke, which partly means he’s a wonderful blank narrative slate to work with, but that’s not the case either. no more cheating.

You see, gamers have been waiting for Assassin’s Creed to come to Japan for years. This is the land of the ninjas, the epitome of stealth. Therefore, it has been the best selection for a game series based on stealth assassinations in a vintage appeal. setting.

However, one of the protagonists of Shadows is indeed an Iga ninja. This is a very prominent and vital region of Japan and in many ways is the birthplace of ninjas. I lived in Mie-ken and going to Ueno Castle was a lot of fun, especially because there were all these wonderful exhibits about the history of ninjas. So Iga represents a large component of what ninjas are in Japan.

Anyway, I don’t understand why Ubisoft didn’t just create Shadows about ninjas, in a series where you intend to murder people stealthily. However, the disorders begin with the fact that the other protagonist is Yasuke and is now a samurai. .

Yasuke has been portrayed with other tactics over the years, in anime such as Afro Samurai and the most recent Yasuke on Netflix. In those works it is evident that it is a completely fictional “what if” situation and they are all great. Having Yasuke portrayed as a cool samurai is absolutely acceptable, as it’s evident that there’s a lot of artistic license involved.

The challenge here, and the one that Japanese players point out in the game’s trailer and online (pictured above and below), is that Assassin’s Creed is a series meant to maintain a certain degree of consistency in ancient events. That in other games in the series, the other people of that position and era were consistent with the story and their other host cultures.

So it seems to replace it here and has no compatibility with other Assassin’s Creed games, something Japanese enthusiasts often point out online.

In addition, a major edit war broke out on Wikipedia over Yasuke himself, which is also not very useful. It also shows that this is obviously a debatable factor and one that other people are not satisfied with in terms of “rewriting” history.

Personally, all this doesn’t worry me at all, but I understand why it confuses people, especially in Japan. Again, I don’t know why Ubisoft just didn’t focus on making a game about ninjas and they may have just avoided all this nonsense. I’ll probably play the game when it launches in November, but for now, Japanese gamers usually go through all of this.
