The remaining $800 million to build the stadium, valued at $1. 5 billion, would come from personal capital.
A 30-year non-relocation agreement was also planned at Thursday’s board meeting. A’s officials have asked that up to seven games in two years that would be played differently in Las Vegas eventually be played around the world or at special U. S. venues, such as the Field of Dreams in Iowa. No more than four of these games per year would be played outside of Las Vegas.
The senior hopes to open the 33,000-seat stadium by the 2028 season.
They have investments to complement public investment approved through the Democratic-controlled Nevada Legislature in a special consultation last June and signed through Republican Governor Joe Lombardo.
The A’s hired New York-based Galatioto Sports Partners to locate investors.
This is the A’s final season in Oakland. They agreed to play the next 3 seasons, with an option for a fourth, at a Triple-A stadium in West Sacramento, California. The A’s will share this facility with the River Cats, the Triple-A club of the San Francisco Giants.
