The U. S. team The U. S. continues its preparation for a fifth direct gold medal in men’s basketball ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

After five exhibition victories this summer, the team now heads to France ahead of Friday’s opening ceremony before beginning the organizational phase.

On Monday, the United States beat Germany 92-88 at London’s O2 Arena, with LeBron James scoring a game-high 20 points, adding the final 11 of the game. The win comes after Saturday’s dramatic 101-100 result against South Sudan in London, in which James scored the decisive layup in the dying moments.

The American team had already defeated Serbia and Australia in two matches held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. These results translated into a victory over Canada in Las Vegas on July 10.

At the Olympics, Team USAwill play 3 Group C matches in Lille: Sunday (Serbia), July 31 (South Sudan) and August 3 (Puerto Rico). The round of 16 will then move to Paris with the quarter-finals (6 August), semi-finals (8 August) and gold medal (10 August) at the Accor Arena.
