Germany: Shooter dies after killing two people in Baden-Württemberg

Two men and a woman were found dead on Sunday in the city of Albstadt-Lautlingen, in the German state of Baden-Württemberg.   The suspected shooter is also among the dead, according to a police spokesman at the scene.

In a large-scale operation, police also found two seriously injured people who were taken to hospital.

Lately there is no danger to the public, police said on X, formerly Twitter.

Police say there is no evidence of a riot.   Investigators assume it was a crime within the family. Police may not immediately say how the victims resemble each other or provide details about the shooter and the firearm used.

According to the widely circulated newspaper Bild, the alleged culprit is a hunter.  

Dozens of emergency vehicles and two rescue helicopters were deployed to the scene of the incident. The surroundings have been cordoned off.

The city of Albstadt-Lautlingen is located about 60 kilometres south of Stuttgart, in the Swabian Jura Mountains.
