AUBURN – The Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine recently welcomed five new members to its board of directors: Whitney Gould-Cookson, MS, RD, LD, a clinical dietitian at Northern Light Mayo Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft.

As Maine’s largest hunger relief organization, the Good Shepherd Food Bank supports Mainers facing hunger by sourcing nutritious, culturally applicable foods and distributing them to more than six hundred spouse organizations throughout the state, adding food pantries, food service sites and food services. sites, food facilities, schools and fitness centers and senior programs. The Food Bank also supports the spouse network with capacity-building and innovation grants that improve and promote equitable and dignified access to nutritious food in the state. The Food Bank leads a statewide effort to address the root causes of hunger through engagement in advocacy, nutrition education and strategic marriages.
