Residents around Golden Gate Park can also sell their parking spaces to festival visitors. You can locate them on Reddit, Facebook, or even browsing the Sunset District on the user and seeing who signed up. If you decide to use this address to locate the parking lot, be more vigilant of scams and make sure you send cash to the right user.

What if you block a driveway, even if it’s mine?

According to the SFMTA, San Francisco’s transportation code allows citizens to park on the street and block their own driveway “as long as the driveway does not serve more than two tenants. ” According to the SFMTA, multi-family groups with three or more people block their own driveway. Vehicles may also never be parked on the sidewalk.

During the Outlands period, the SFMTA will block vehicle entrances “solely based on a complaint,” the SFMTA says. Of course, this doesn’t give you carte blanche to block someone’s driveway; They will almost certainly complain and get towed if they don’t recognize your car.

If you live near Golden Gate Park, you can check the Outside Lands Ward 311 information page for local citizens for updates.

Traveling to Outer Lands Using SF Muni

SF Muni has a useful map of its features for transport routes to the Outside Lands (PNG) and the company has its own advisor to get to Golden Gate Park in Muni.

Muni will provide more service on N Judah and 5R Fulton Rapid. However, remember: later 5R service will cover the entire route. Each night of the festival, there will be Muni 5X Fulton Express service from Golden Gate Park to the Civic Center BART station.

Check SFMTA for a complete list of additional stops provided through Muni for Outside Lands weekend.

Other traffic advisories, such as on the SFMTA website:

You can plan your trip to Muni at 511. org and check Muni arrival details at Next Bus.

Use the Outland Shuttle

You can ride the Outside Lands Shuttle, which runs from the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium to the south front of the Outside Lands in Golden Gate Park. The Civic Center BART station is next to the Bill Graham Auditorium.

These “tour buses” are prepaid and charge $29. 50 for a day pass (with service fee). Starting Thursday, you can only get the highest level of three-day tickets for $44. 50.

The service will begin operating on both days at 11 a. m. and will operate “uninterrupted all day with limited coverage” starting at 5 p. m. to 8 p. m. , with the last festival coming and going leaving the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium at 8 p. m. As for the return, round trips take place night and night up to an hour after the music ends, festival organizers say.

Outside Lands officials highly recommend taking the BART to the Civic Center to pick up the official shuttle, but if you drive, you can get paid parking in the Civic Center garage adjacent to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium for a fee (entrance on McAllister Street between Polk Street and Larkin Street. )

The closest BART station to Golden Gate Park is Civic Center. From there, you can continue to Outside Lands SF Muni or use the official paid Outside Lands shuttle, which departs from the nearby Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

BART service will run until “around midnight” on all 3 days, according to official Outside Lands guidelines. Parking at BART stations with BART-operated masses is free after 3 p. m. on Fridays and free all day on Saturdays and Sundays (except Milpitas and Berryessa/North San Jose stations, which charge a fee on weekends).

You can use BART Trip Planner to explain the details.

Phil Ginsburg, San Francisco’s managing director of parks and recreation, told KQED in 2023 that the exit routes are “very well marked and the methods for getting in and out of the festival are pretty well laid out at this point and we’re going to have a lot of security and there’s a lot of lightning in the area to help people get out of the festival. “

Use BART Trip Planner and SFMTA Trip Planner to find out when the last service of the day is.

If you’re hoping to get a percentage of Uber or Lyft’s ride home from Outside Lands, don’t go to the recommended pickup locations around Golden Gate Park, and this dynamic increase in the value of those facilities will almost mean requesting a home from Uber or Lyft. It looks pretty good. Dear. (If you’re determined, you may want to consider pre-arranging a team for percentage of the trip and splitting the costs. )

No, keep your bracelet on if you’re spending days in Outside Lands. (It’s waterproof, so you can shower with it. )

Every ticket holder gets a wristband, and festival organizers need you to “treat it like money. “In other words, the festival will not update your wristband in case of loss or theft. Don’t cut it or twist it because it would possibly fray, and the festival would probably not update it in those cases either.

Returning to school on the same day is not allowed. But if you have to leave the festival, the festival organizers ask you to speak to a member of the departure staff before you leave to arrange the details.

There is an ADA-designated front at 36th Avenue and JFK. This is where the access center is located and you can request an in-house golf cart or get a collar for your service animal. Accessible pickup and drop-off is at 36th and Fulton. If you share a car, tell your driver to tell the parking lot that you want to access the ADA parking lot, which is also located at the 36th and Fulton fronts.

ADA parking is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. You can access this parking lot by entering 36th Avenue and Fulton and speaking with the front officers. It’s worth noting that some of the ADA parking is on rough terrain roads, with a boardwalk to the ADA gate. Notify parking lot staff so they can request a round trip to the gate.

There is a high demand for shuttles, so Outside Lands limits “capacity for our disabled visitors and a companion. “Due to the “limited number” of shuttles, Outside Lands organizers advise festival-goers with disabilities to “Wait a wait and plan your requests accordingly. “

Outside Lands offers expanded platforms in the following stages: Sutro, Twin Peaks, and Lands End. Banquet-style folding chairs are available on all platforms.

ADA restrooms are next to all available viewing platforms. Bathrooms in Outside Lands also have features available at the ends.

Festival organizers recommend that you email access@sfoutsidelands. com in advance if you have any questions or requests related to accessibility.

Yes, it’s August. Yes, it’s Golden Gate Park. Yes, you still want to bring a jacket.

You can keep an eye on the National Weather Service’s forecast for San Francisco as the festival approaches. At the moment, the forecast in the city calls for “mostly sunny” weather this weekend, with highs near 69 on Friday and 70 on Saturday. and 68 on Sunday. But Golden Gate Park is close to the ocean and is quiet even when other parts of San Francisco are beautiful and warm. Forgetting diapers during a day at the park is a common mistake.

Plus, outfit tips from seasoned KQED journalists: Comfortable shoes that you’re not afraid to get dirty.

You can also buy earplugs to let sounds in for about $30.

If you’re looking for shortcuts to other venues (such as a tunnel between Polo Field and Sutro Stage) or emergency exits, save the official festival map to your camera roll (JPG):

Here are some tips from KQED reporters:

SFMTA expects about 75,000 more people each day of the festival, and the crowds may be overwhelming for some, especially with predictions of a big turnout for singer Chappell Roan. With incidents beyond tragic at other festivals and Outside Lands enthusiasts even asking for crowd-crushing larger outings, it doesn’t hurt to be careful and prepared. Read NPR’s full advisory on what to do if you find yourself stuck in a crowd.

According to Mehdi Moussaïd, a Berlin-based researcher who studies crowd behavior, accept as true with your instincts and senses if you feel that the crowd is getting too dense. If you’re stuck in a crowd, move with the crowd, put your arms in front of their chest, and keep them there.

“In that position, you would have a little bit of room, just a little bit, to push a centimeter or just 1 centimeter, enough to keep breathing,” Moussaïd told NPR in 2022. “It won’t be comfortable. You’ll feel really bad, but at least you’ll survive. ” .

Yes, Outside Lands has several after-parties in San Francisco that you can get tickets to starting Thursday, Sunday, plus one featuring RuPaul Drag Race winner Willow Pill.
