Donald Trump describes Chinese Xi Jinping’s note after his assassination as “beautiful”

Former U. S. President Donald Trump said Saturday that Chinese President Xi Jinping wrote him a note after the Republican presidential candidate was shot in the ear in an assassination attempt last week.

“(Xi) wrote me a big note the other day when he heard about what happened,” Trump told the crowd in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in his first crusade since narrowly escaping the July 13 assassination attempt.

Trump discussed Xi’s letter while discussing his economic policy toward China during his presidency, adding, “I got along very well with President Xi. “

The former president of the United States also referenced messages from world leaders after the shooting at a rally in Pennsylvania.

Trump accepted the GOP nomination for the Nov. 5 presidential election on Thursday.
