Musk blames cyberattack on verbal exchange with Trump over X affected by technical issues

The verbal exchange between United States Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and billionaire businessman Elon Musk nonetheless began Monday night on Musk’s social media platform, access the livestream.

Musk, who has supported Trump, started the event at 8:42 p. m. ET, more than 40 minutes after the scheduled start time. He blamed the difficulties on a distributed denial-of-service attack, a type of cyberattack in which a server or network is flooded with traffic in an attempt to provoke it; his claim has not been confirmed.

More than 1. 3 million people listened to the verbal exchange after about forty-five minutes, according to an X counter.

Trump sought to turn the disorders into positives, praising Musk for the number of people seeking to connect.

The former president of the United States appeared to lisp, many X listeners noted. Some said it made him look like a cartoon. Others have warned that it may simply be due to audio compression issues.

The technical glitches are reminiscent of an occasion in May 2023, when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had a chaotic start to his bid for the Republican presidential nomination due to problems with the platform.

At the time, Trump mocked DeSantis on his own social media platform, Truth Social: “My red button is bigger, better, stronger, and it works (TRUTH!),” Trump said.   “That’s the case. “

Ahead of Monday’s event, Musk wrote, “I’ll be doing formula scaling tests tonight and before the talk. ”  X did not respond to requests for main points or evidence of the alleged cyberattack.

Musk spent much of the beginning of the discussion praising Trump for his bravery in the July 13 attempt on his life, in which a bullet pierced his ear.

Musk, one of the richest people in the world, announced his support for Trump shortly after the shooting. He had defeated Democratic United States President Joe Biden in 2020 but has since leaned to the right.

Trump said he plans to return to Butler, Pennsylvania, the site of the attack, for a rally in October.

As the verbal exchange unfolded, Trump voiced his usual mix of grievances, exaggerated claims and private attacks, and Musk provided occasional encouragement.

Trump has claimed, without evidence, that Russia would have invaded Ukraine if he were still president, and praised Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, all authoritarian strongmen, as if they were at the “peak of power. “his game. “”

He also expressed anger that United States Vice President Kamala Harris was replaced by Biden on the Democratic ticket.

“She hasn’t given an interview since this total scam began,” Trump said, falsely claiming Biden’s price slip presentation was a “coup. “Trump had led Biden in polls in battleground states likely to be critical of the final results of the Nov. 5 election. However, she now trails Harris in some of those same states.

In a vague verbal exchange on politics, Trump also appeared to congratulate Musk for laying off workers.

“You’re the one who cuts. I mean, I watch what you do. You walk in and just say, ‘Do you need to quit?’  They pass the strike (I won’t mention the company’s call), but they pass the strike and you say, “Okay, they’re all over. “

The venue is a chance for Trump to draw attention at a time when his crusade is facing new headwinds.

Harris erased Trump’s lead in opinion polls and energized the Democratic electorate with a series of spirited rallies. His momentum could get an additional boost through the Democratic National Convention next week in Chicago.

Trump backtracked on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday morning for the first time in a year, posting a video highlighting his unsubstantiated claim that the four criminal charges he faces are politically motivated.

He temporarily followed up with a half-dozen more posts, relaunching an account that served as his No. 1 media outlet in past campaigns and his four years in the White House, adding the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on his opposing supporters of the United States Capitol. Joined.
