Why Britain Should Say No (Again) to China’s “Super-Embassy” in London

The previous Conservative government might not have been able to engage China’s global ambitions, but at least it tried. Unfortunately, it is doubtful whether David Lammy’s Foreign Office has the same ambition to resist Beijing’s bullying. A drop in the bucket is China’s announcement this week that it has revived its plan to build a new “super embassy” with the logo, ten times longer than Beijing’s current outpost, on land it owns in downtown from the capital, just a stone’s throw from the Tower of London.
