At a business forum within the framework of the “Central Asia-Japan Dialogue”, Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), a leading diversified herbal resources organization based in Luxembourg, signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with major Japanese companies.

The first MoU signed with HITACHI Construction Machinery, a global manufacturer of structural and mining equipment, and its official distributor in Central Asia, Eurasian Machinery LLP. At the time the MoU was signed with Mitsui

According to the first MoU, HITACHI Construction Machinery will provide ERG with EH4000 electric mining sales trucks modified to operate at the Kacharsky mine in Kazakhstan. The MoU will be facilitated through HITACHI’s regional distribution partner, Eurasian Machinery, and will promote the progression of ESG-focused structural practices across ERG’s global operations. The MoU was signed through ERG Board Chairman Shukhrat Ibragimov, Eurasian Machinery CEO Mehmet Kemal Cetinelli, and Hitachi Construction Machinery Co Chairman Masafumi Senzaki.

Cooperation with key commercial players for the progress of the Kacharsky mine will enable ERG to achieve its environmental control goals. The MoU will allow Hitachi’s EH4000 mining vending trucks to run on electricity. The electrification of the ERG truck fleet will especially reduce local carbon emissions at the Kacharsky mine. The company will also sign a long-term contract for a wide variety of services, adding the evolution of the service infrastructure and the supply of spare parts and large components.

To improve economic and environmental performance, the partners submitted plans to conduct joint feasibility studies, to assist in the full electrification of ERG’s mining fleet.

The current memorandum between ERG and Mitsui & Co. is concluded. ERG intends to modernize up to 30% of its truck fleet by purchasing Komatsu appliances through KOMEK Machinery Kazakhstan LLP. The MoU also provides for collaboration to achieve “green” ferrochrome production targets. Mitsui plans to conduct a feasibility study for a possible wind force progression task for ERG.

Commenting on the signed memorandums of understanding, ERG Board Chairman Shukhrat Ibragimov said: “International cooperation on this scale will give new impetus to our company’s progress in line with the ESG agenda. Our goal is not only our business practices, but also to ensure that our operations meet the highest global standards.

The priority is the proper functioning of operations and the achievement of production objectives in full compliance with protection standards and operating responsibly. We are sure that this will be reflected in the quality of our products and at the same time contribute to the progress of the economy of Kazakhstan.
