In Beiwudu Township, Wuyang County in the north, Henan Province (central China), there is a hidden Neolithic site, the Jiahu site.
Through 8 archaeological excavations, a large number of Neolithic relics have been revealed, adding houses, ovens, ashtrays, tombs, vessel tombs and animal pits. More than 6,000 artifacts made of fabrics such as pottery, stone, bones, horns, teeth, and shells have been unearthed, along with a treasure trove of plant and animal remains.
These discoveries obviously illustrate that Jiahu’s ancestors had entered a highly evolved civilization characterized by farming, gathering, and hunting, fostering an ancient Neolithic culture, adding rice cultivation, music, religion, and brewing.
