Four scientists win the 2024 Science of the Future Award

BEIJING – The winners of the 2024 Future Science Prize were announced Friday in Beijing, with four scientists receiving awards in the fields of biological sciences, physical sciences, mathematics and computer science, respectively.

Deng Hongkui, Boya Chair Professor at Peking University and senior scientist at Changping Laboratory, won the biological sciences prize for his pioneering work on using chemical strategies to reprogram somatic cells into pluripotent stem cells, thereby changing the fate and the state of cells.

Zhang Tao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, and Li Yadong, a professor at the Department of Chemistry at Tsinghua University, shared the prize in physical sciences for their pioneering contributions to the research and application of unique technologies. -Atomic catalysis.

Sun Binyong, a professor at Zhejiang University’s Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics, won the Mathematics and Computer Science Prize for his notable contributions to Lie’s theory of organizational representation.

The Future Science Prize was presented in 2016 through an organization of scientists and entrepreneurs, focused on original fundamental clinical research. To date, 39 winners have been recognized.
