The new data shows that 66% of drivers have automated technology in their vehicle, but only about a third (31%) admit that those features (adding parking and parking assist sensors) make others worse drivers.
The most sensible thing is that 15% admit to relying heavily on the generation every time they get behind the wheel.
The survey, conducted by Quotezone. co. uk car insurance comparison experts, shows how much Britons rely on car automation systems when driving, risking penalties or even disqualification.

Half of drivers (50%) say they use assistance features every time they drive and 25% say they use them for parking; Basic driving skills, such as niche parking, speed control, and timely braking, are out of the driver’s control.
Not only can these technological crutches make other people worse drivers, but any twist of fate caused in this generation can have costly consequences for drivers. Under Rule 150 of the Highway Traffic Act, drivers are at fault for their car when Motive Force Assistance Systems.
While 43% of drivers say they feel safer in the car when they have those features, 34% of drivers find touchscreens distracting them while driving.
According to Greg Wilson, executive director of auto insurance comparison Quotezone. co. uk:
“Our survey results show that most people have some form of automated generation in their cars, and many of them use it to learn basic driving skills.
“Things like niche parking, timely braking, cruise control and navigation have been removed from driving force control through automated automotive systems. This raises the question of whether this makes us less intelligent driving forces, given that many of us no longer practice our driving skills to perform those complicated maneuvers.
“In our survey, 12% stated that with complex automotive technology, they are more often found off-road. Drivers will need to ensure that they comply with the rules of the road and that none of these assisted purposes lead to distraction or lack of concentration. Failure to do so can result in hefty fines, problems with your license, or even disqualification.
“When it comes to insurance, any driver adding car generation systems will have to inform their insurer. This ensures that your policy is accurate and up to date; Otherwise, it can lead to a null policy, leaving drivers without coverage if they had to make a claim.
