Determine which network offers the most productive reception in your domain before making a long-term commitment. Telstra offers the broadest policy and you’re less likely to experience reception issues than if you opted for Optus or Vodafone. Although packages on Telstra network tend to charge a bit more.
Think about how long you’re willing to commit, whether it’s for 90, 180, or 365 days. The longer you commit, the less you’ll want to worry about charges in the year. Just keep in mind that if you decide to leave earlier at the end of your expiration period, you will lose the money you paid in advance.
Choose a data limit that fits your needs. When in doubt, add a few extra GBs to the amount of data you plan to use. You don’t want to end up with a lack of data after committing to a long-term plan. Note that some plans assign monthly knowledge limits.

Optus offers several 365-day plans suitable for users with moderate knowledge. You get up to 200GB of data transfer and the ability to upload 300 minutes for $5 for 28 days for 50 destinations.
Kogan Mobile runs on the Vodafone network and offers a wide variety of 365-day plans to meet your knowledge needs. This diversity, from small to very giant packages, offers good value for money. You also get Wi-Fi calling and the ability to set up an instant eSIM if you have a compatible smartphone.
Telstra has Australia’s largest 4G and 5G network policy and is available on its 6- and 12-month maturities. This can be useful if you live in a rural or regional domain in Australia. You also get a limited number of free networks. Foreign Acts.
Woolworths Mobile operates on Telstra’s wholesale network and offers 180 and 365 day prepaid cellular plans for mild to moderate proficient users. Vodafone’s long-term prepaid plans last from 180 to 365 days with a good amount of data allocated for moderate to moderate users. You can also buy up to two hundred GB of data for long-term use and create 50 popular foreign SMS messages for free. Vodafone also offers long-term PAYG plans. These don’t have any data allowance explained, but have credits to use on calls, SMS, and data as needed.
amaysim runs on the Optus fourG network and also won the 2022 Finder Retail Award for Best Mobile Plan Provider. You have the option to enroll in a 6- or 12-month expiration plan suitable for users with mild to moderate knowledge. You can also seamlessly charge one of their four foreign roaming packages when you travel to one of the more than 90 countries on their list.
There are a handful of providers that offer unlimited foreign minutes to linked countries or an allocation of the number of minutes you can use on your plan to any country. Be sure to compare the features of providers and their plans before signing up if this is a feature for you.
Yes, they are the same. Some providers will call them 12-month plans, while others will call them 365-day prepaid plans.
Please note that some carriers offer SIM plans only with a 12-month contract. Others are because you pay your cell bill monthly (rather than upfront, like a 365-day prepaid plan) and exit fees apply.

I am only in favour of a long-term knowledge plan, preferably five years if possible. Data usage is low, just monitor the source of strength of a site without web access.
