France 33-9 USA: Les Bleus get bonus point victory despite underwhelming Rugby World Cup performance

The cliche does not really work anymore. You know – ‘Which France are going to turn up?’ – that desperately well-worn aside. Nowadays France are almost always bad.

And they were here for the majority of the game too.

Ok they won, and took a Rugby World Cup bonus-point for scoring five tries, and the first two – from Yoann Huget and Alivereti Raka were particularly pretty – but their play was so messy, so lacking in planning and execution and in quality that it bordered on depressing.
