Miss Texas 2020 USA begins Friday in Houston at the Hilton Houston Post Oak Hotel.
The events will last three days with the winner receiving her crown on Sunday, Sept. 1
Candidates will need to excel in three separate categories: Personal Interview, Swimsuit and Evening Gown.

The preliminary show and competition will be held on Saturday evening, August 31.The Swimsuit and Photogenic award winners will be announced at this event.
During the weekend’s final show on Sept, 1, Albert Soliz will be joined by a numberfavorite Miss Texas USA winners. Two are also Miss USA winners.
Among the legendary past Texas winners to share the limelight include Stephanie Kuehne Kissner (1990), Angie Sisk McKernan (1993), Holly Mills Gardner (1998), Heather Ogilvie Regimbald (2000), Kandace Krueger Matthews (Miss USA 2001), Magen Ellis Cherry (2007), Crystle Stewart Sebrects (Miss USA 2008), Kelsey Moore Wheeler (2010), Ylianna Guerra Dadashi (2015), Nancy Gonzalez (2017), and Logan Lester (2018).
The winners of the Miss Congeniality award winner of the People’s Choice Award, a fundraiser for the Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation, will also be named on Sunday.

The winner of Miss Texas 2020 will be crowned by the 2019 winner, Alayah Benavidez.
This year’s Texas USA winner will get to travel for a year, make guest appearances at events and will be awarded a prize package of cash, gold and diamond jewelry. That individual will also receive a paid vacation, her own wardrobe, and more.
Perhaps, above all, she will also represent Texas in the nationally televised, Miss USA 2020 next Spring. If Miss Texas wins the title of Miss USA, she will then compete for the title of Miss Universe.

Winners of the Miss Texas USA/Miss Texas Teen USA pageants have produced a record nine Miss USA winners and three Miss Teen USA winners.
