Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia president and Sony Interactive Entertainment corporate director Atsushi Morita has retired from Sony due to age, the company announced. Kazuhiko Taekda has been instated as a new corporate director.
The company has yet to announce a new Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia president. The corporate profile page that previously listed Morita as Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia president has been updated to remove the “Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia president” section in the list of executive staff.
The announcement of Morita’s retirement follows the departure of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios chairman Shawn Layden. October 1 marks the start of second half of the fiscal year for many Japanese companies, and is often a time when personnel changes are announced.
