We’re not quite sure if it’s a one-state version of the Super Bowl, but this week’s Cy-Hawk game is getting some extra love on the sports wagering front.
At least one vendor is offering proposition bets numbering in the double digits for this Saturday’s 3 p.m. game on FS1 that has garnered nationwide attention.
Vendor William Hill, which operates at Iowa casinos in Osceola, Altoona, Waterloo and Bettendorf and is one of two mobile wagering operators for sports betting in the state, has 10 bets beyond the typical money line, point spread and game total that bettors would see at any sportsbook nationwide.
For example, Iowa is currently favored by 2½ points, and the projected point total is set at 44½. Want to bet simply on the winner? Iowa currently stands as a -135 favorite, meaning that you’d have to bet $135 to win $100 on your wager, for example, and receive $235 in total. (Or $13.50 for $10 back, if you set your sights more reasonably.)
Iowa State is a +115 underdog, meaning that if you bet $100 on the Cyclones to win, you’d receive $115 as your prize for a $225 reward.
