ALL-SPORTS: Attica, ND, B-B, Le Roy volleyball all win; Avon boys soccer nips Batavia

ATTICA — Host Attica (8-1) cruised to the sweep over Oakfield-Alabama/Elba winning 25-13, 25-18 and 25-21 Tuesday night.

Attica was led by Claudia Hardie with 12 assists to go with four digs, three aces and two kills while Leah Veley had six digs, five kills and two aces.

Randsley Berry added eight digs with four kills and two aces while Nora Parkhurst chipped in nine digs with an ace.

NOTRE DAME OVER KENDALL

Straight sets victory Monday followed by another three-set sweep Tuesday as the Notre Dame girls defeated visiting Kendall 25-15, 25-16 and 25-14 in Genesee Region action.

Jewel Shenck led the way for Notre Dame with 11 kills, four aces and three digs while Sarah McGinnis added six digs, two aces and two kills.

Adryona Miller added five digs, four aces and four kills while Lindsey Weidman contributed three kills and two blocks.

For Kendall (5-6), Brittney Marks had 14 digs, two kills and two assists while Madison Shonitsky added seven digs and four assists. Autumn Woodward tallied seven digs and four kills for the Eagles.

BYRON-BERGEN OVER WHEATLAND-CHILI

The undefeated Lady Bees improved to 8-0 on the season with another sweep winning 25-10, 25-12, and 25-14,

In what head coach Cindy D’Errico called “a team effort,” Byron-Bergen was led by Madison Farnsworth’s nine kills while Kelly Ireland added eight aces with two digs. Hannah Van Skiver chipped in four kills while Jorie Strzelecki added six assists with two kills and two aces.

Wheatland-Chili was led by Abby Webster with five kills and Thalia Sainpaulin with five assists.

LE ROY OVER LIVONIA

In a battle of the LCAA’s only unbeatens, visiting Le Roy got the victory over Livonia in four sets — 25-18, 19-25, 25-16 and 25-16 to improve to 9-0 on the season.

LeRoy was led by Carson Tyler with 19 digs, 13 kills and four aces while Olivia Johnson added eight digs with seven kills and one ace.

Riley Wood contributed 11 digs and four aces for Le Roy, who will host Hornell Friday.

Livonia (9-1) was led by Brooklyn Kicherer’s seven kills and one block while Caitlynne Marczyk had 16 digs.

Boys Volleyball

CANANDAIGUA OVER PAV/YORK

Canandaigua won the match by scores of 25-18, 25-20, 21-25, and 25-22.

Pavilion/York (5-3) was led by Cameron Milligan with 28 kills, 10 digs and four blocks while Cole Tillotson dished out 29 assists with six kills.

Ty Heineman helped the cause with five kills.

Girls Soccer

OAE 2, NOTRE DAME 0

Visiting Oakfield-Alabama/Elba picked up the shutout victory as Brynn Walczak posted six saves.

Just three minutes into the game, Isabella Riner scored off an assist from Dakota Brinkman to put the visitors up 1-0.

Just four minutes later they doubled that lead when Madison Harrington scored off a feed from Lily Thompson.

The game was called in the second half due to thunder and lightning. It is considered an official game.

HOLLEY 0, BYRON-BERGEN 0

Holley’s Leah Rheinwald made six saves while B-B’s Hope Hersom stopped five shots as the two teams played to a scoreless tie.

The game was called halfway through the second half because of lightning.

B-B is 8-2-1 while Holley is 6-3-1.

Boys Soccer

AVON 2, BATAVIA 1

Sean Cochrane scored the winning goal in the second half assisted by Cam Salvati as visiting Avon (5-5) nipped Batavia (3-6) in non league action.

Avon’s first half goal came from Brendan Miron, assisted by Cochrane.

The game was tied at 1-1 at the half as Batavia’s Joe Gefel scored for the Blue Devils off a feed from Andres Mateos.

BYRON-BERGEN 4, WHEATLAND-CHILI 1

In a game played Monday, Sam Pringle scored two goals — both assisted by Kyle Foeller — while Greyson Huntington and Gianni Ferrara also scored as the Bees got the GR win.

Foeller finished with three saves while Alex Heatherman had one.

Wheatland-Chili’s lone score came in the second half from Brian Napier assisted by Jake Elliott.
