A six-game anthology of Fallout titles appears to be launching on PC later this month. As reported by GamesRadar, the Fallout Legacy collection contains the original Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition, Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition, and Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition.
This reveal comes courtesy of an Amazon Germany listing—undoubtedly published by mistake—that has the collection priced at €39.99, or somewhere in the $44 range. (GameStop’s got it listed, too.) According to the product page, the anthology’s release date is set for October 25.
Fallout Legacy
Bethesda Softworks
From a consumer perspective, Fallout Legacy looks like an incredible value. Half of these games are time-honored classics that predate Bethesda’s acquisition of the Fallout license; the other half are among the best titles in the publisher’s history. With the Legacy collection, players will apparently also receive all of the expansions for Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Fallout 4. I’ve spent hundreds of hours in Fallout 4 alone, and hope to spend hundreds more.
Back in January, Bethesda announced in a now-deleted tweet that anyone who’d logged into Fallout 76 in 2018 would receive the Fallout Classic Collection for free. That release, initially meant exclusively for Fallout 76 pre-orders on PC, includes the original Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. So it would seem that Fallout Legacy is the next logical step for bundling the series.
Anecdotally, I know at least a couple people I’ve played Fallout 76 with have never touched a previous Fallout. This new collection’s perfect for someone who started their postnuclear journey in Appalachia.
