Brandon Routh Suits Up As Kingdom Come Superman For Arrowverse Crossover In Incredible Image

A new piece of fan art depicts Superman Returns star Brandon Routh as the Kingdom Come version of the Man of Steel for the Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths.

In 2006, Brandon Routh donned the red and blue tights as the Last Son of Krypton in Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns. However, Warner Bros. was disappointed by the box office performance of the film and it would turn out to be Brandon Routh’s sole outing as the DC Comics icon.

Now, over a decade after the release of Superman Returns, Brandon Routh will reprise his role as the Man of Tomorrow for the upcoming Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths. Details on what role Brandon Routh’s Superman will play in the Arrowverse crossover are unknown aside from the fact that the actor will portray the Kingdom Come version of the hero. Now, artwork by Instagram user “devax.official” imagines what Brandon Routh could lool like as the Kingdom Come Superman in the Arrowverse crossover.

Written by Mark Waid and Alex Ross, Kingdom Come was a four-issue series published under DC’s Elseworlds imprint. Set in the year 2020, Kingdom Come follows an older Superman as he attempts to rein in a new generation of reckless vigilantes and inspire them to adopt the ideals of past superheroes.

Crisis On Infinite Earths will span two quarters and consist of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman. The Arrowverse crossover will launch with three episodes in December before concluding with two additional episodes in January.

In addition to the regular cast members of each Arrowverse series, Crisis on Infinite Earths will also feature appearances by Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, Brandon Routh as Clark Kent/Superman and Ray Palmer/The Atom, LaMonica Garrett as the Anti-Monitor, Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor, Tom Cavanagh as Pariah, Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne, Johnathon Schaech as Jonah Hex, Erica Durance as Lois Lane and Tom Welling as Clark Kent / Superman. Burt Ward is also on board in an undisclosed role.

The CW has released the first official photos from the sixth season premiere of Grant Gustin’s The Flash.

The sixth season of The Flash is set to begin in just over one month and fans are curious to see how the latest chapter of the Grant Gustin series will build towards the long-looming Crisis on Infinite Earths. Now, The CW has released the first official photos from the season six premiere, titled “Into the Void,” and they offer fans their first look at Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen and the rest of Team Flash.

Full details on the sixth season of Grant Gustin’s The Flash are under wraps, though Heroes alum Sendhil Ramamurthy has joined the cast at DC Comics villain Bloodwork. In the comics, Bloodwork is a Central City morgue employee and hemophiliac who developed the ability to transform his flesh into blood-like physiology after experimenting with blood properties. The new season has also been teased to include an antagonist who will be the most personal villain Barry Allen has faced since Eobard Thawne.

The sixth season will also lead into highly-anticipated Arrowverse crossover titled Crisis on Infinite Earths and the back-half of the Grant Gustin series’ next season will deal with the fallout from the five-part event. With Arrow coming to an end this fall after concluding its eight-episode final season, The Flash will also become The CW’s main DC Comics drama and Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen will seemingly lead the other Arrowverse superheroes forward.
