Here are a few sports briefs from around the St. George sports scene.
BYU baseball gets two Thunder commits
Payton Gubler and Chandler Reber have announced they will commit to baseball scholarships at BYU once they graduate from Desert Hills.
Gubler is primarily a pitcher for the Thunder. He made two appearances during Desert Hills’ 4A Championship season as a freshman and recorded one save. Reber was an outfielder who notably went 3-3 in the 4A title game, scoring a run and recording a RBI.
Reber will be a junior this season and Gubler will be a sophomore, but they join Dixie’s Cooper Vest as BYU baseball commits in the St. George area.
