Each week, we publish a tech-advice column (Tech 911), where the goal is to take one of your pressing tech questions and provide as many helpful answers as possible. The column depends on your contributions, and our mailbag is running a little low, so it’s time for you to chime in!
I normally ask all Lifehacker readers to email their Tech 911 questions directly to me. You still can. I don’t mind. I’m also going to open up the floodgates and say that if you have any tech-related curiosities, feel free to leave them as comments to this post if that’s more convenient.

What makes for a good Tech 911 question? Anything. Seriously. As long as it’s somewhat related to technology, I’ll consider it. That includes issues you’re having with your devices—random crashes, peculiar noises, and strange slowdowns—as well as those “I want to do something and I have no idea how to get started” kinds of queries. You can also ask for buying advice if you’re looking to purchase some new and shiny product. And I’m happy to walk you through setting up whatever you purchased if you need a little extra help.

Basically, if it relates to technology, it’s fair game. The only letters I probably won’t cover very much are the not-so-infrequent messages I get where one person finds porn on a loved one’s computer or smartphone and swears they have no idea how it got there. If I wrote a column for every time I get a letter like that, I’d be covered through 2021. (A laundry list of porn sites usually doesn’t magically appear in one’s history. Run a malware scan, get an adblocker, and have an open dialogue with the owner of the device.)
That’s my pitch. Tell me your tech troubles and I will answer them.
