The meeting took place on Tuesday, October 1, the Government portal reported.
The minister thanked the German ambassador for the consistent political, material and advisory support for Ukraine. In particular, he highly appreciated efforts of the Government of Germany for the treatment and rehabilitation of military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the medical institutions of the Bundeswehr, noting that the Defense Ministry is interested in further development of military and medical cooperation.
Zahorodniuk informed the German delegation about the priorities of his activity as the minister of defense of Ukraine, assuring that the chosen Euro-Atlantic course of the country remains unchanged.
The possibility of expanding bilateral cooperation in education and training was also discussed during the meeting. In this context, the parties stressed the importance of exchanging experience and improving practical skills between the Armed Forces of both countries.
Anka Feldhusen congratulated Andriy Zahorodniuk on his appointment as the minister of defense of Ukraine and expressed hope for further friendly and constructive relations. The ambassador also shared her impressions of the trip to the JFO area in eastern Ukraine.
