The Iowa City Police Department is searching for a suspect who reportedly stole a delivery driver’s pizza after trying to steal their money Tuesday night.
There were no injuries reported in connection to the incident.
Officers responded to the 1100 block of Arthur Street at 11:42 p.m., about 10 minutes after the reported robbery occurred, according to a news release.
Police say the pizza delivery driver was located there and told officers about a suspect with a firearm who demanded money while the driver was trying to deliver a pizza in the area.
“The subject demanded money, however, only got away with the pizza before fleeing the area on foot,” according to the release.
The victim described the suspect as a male holding a darker colored pistol and wearing a hooded sweatshirt, shorts and a flat bill baseball cap, police say.
Iowa City Police is investigating and encourages people to call the department if they have information related to the incident.
A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered by the Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers for anyone with information that leads to an arrest.
