An event to showcase Japanese food has opened in Singapore. Delicacies from throughout Japan are available to try or to buy, from Hokkaido in the north all the way to the southern island of Okinawa.
The food festival, organized by a Japanese department store, features a total of 45 vendors offering foods and other products. The ingredients include authentic Japanese seafood and meat, including wagyu beef.
The popular Tonkotsu ramen restaurant, from Fukuoka in western Japan, also set up a store, faithfully reproducing the individual booths for which it is known.
The event is attracting huge crowds, an indication of how popular Japanese food is there. The festival will continue until October 20th.
