Huawei to build mobile device factory in France by 2024: report

Chinese handset maker Huawei Technologies plans to begin construction of its cellular-network handset factory in France in 2024, Chinese media reports citing a source close to the matter.

The French factory would be Huawei’s first factory in Europe, according to the report.

Plans presented for the plant with an initial investment of €200 million ($215. 28 million) in 2020. However, the structure of this facility has been delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the source said.

The source clearly indicated when the Brumath plant near Strasbourg will be fully operational.
