Virgin Mobile matches its competition with a $34/50GB plan for the week after Christmas

After Fido, Koodo, and Public Mobile introduced $34/50GB plans to accommodate Freedom Mobile’s $34/50GB offer on Boxing Day (which has a head start on roaming between Canada and the U. S. ), Freedom Mobile has a head start on roaming between Canada and the U. S. Bell’s Virgin Mobile eventually joined the game.

Virgin Mobile upgraded its plan to $34 later Tuesday to accommodate its competitors. The $34/50GB plan is only for new activations and consumers who bring their own phone.

The plan includes unlimited domestic calling and overseas messaging, at 4G LTE speeds of up to 150 Mbps. The plan supports SD video streaming. Another Boxing Week bundle that’s still available is a $45/60GB deal with 5G knowledge speeds.

It’s clear that the flanker brands of Fido, Koodo and Virgin Mobile won’t be matching the $34/50GB Canada-US plan from Freedom Mobile, for now. But the pressure is on from Freedom Mobile as the Quebecor subsidiary continues to turn up the heat on ‘Big 3’ incumbents.
